Everyone experiences anxiety to some extent. That doesn't mean everyone is anxious or has an anxiety disorder.
Being in recovery, however, can predispose you to anxiety, especially in the early stages. Even if you're years into recovery, you can still experience anxiety in the form of intrusive thoughts about guilt, regret, or even relapse.

In recovery, we want to change certain behaviors to maintain sobriety. Unfortunately, as we age, it is harder to change our behaviors. Trauma compounds this by impacting us long after the traumatic events took place.
Understanding how trauma can affect and shape your coping mechanisms (behaviors) is an important step to making long-lasting changes for your recovery.

Fitness in recovery is much more than physical activity. It is committing to positive changes to your routine, not just when you have the time or feel like it.
Fitness doesn't need to be physical either. Whether you have limited mobility or not, you can instead challenge your mind. Learn a new language, or how to play chess, or read a book you might not normally read.
